FAB Cheque Printing — What You Need to Know

FAB cheques (formerly NBAD and FGB cheques after the 2017 merger) have a specific field layout. The payee line, amount box, and date field are at fixed coordinates on the cheque leaf. To print correctly, your software must have the FAB template calibrated to match these coordinates exactly.

Our system ships with a ready-built FAB layout, measured from real FAB stationery — including both the standard current account cheque and the FAB Islamic banking cheque format.

What Gets Printed on a FAB Cheque

• Payee name — aligned to FAB's "Pay" line position
• Amount in figures — printed in FAB's amount box with AED currency
• Amount in words — auto-generated (Arabic or English)
• Date — DD/MM/YYYY format in the date field
• Account Payee Only — crossing printed if needed

The pre-printed bank elements — FAB logo, account number, IBAN, branch details, MICR line — are never overprinted. Only the variable fields are filled in.
