MICR Printer UAE
Short answer: No.
UAE banks pre-print the MICR line on your cheque stationery. A regular printer and the right software is all you need.
MICR stands for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. It is the row of specially formatted numbers you see at the bottom of every bank cheque. These contain your cheque serial number, bank routing code, and account number — printed with magnetic ink so clearing machines can read them at high speed.
A MICR printer is an industrial-grade device that uses magnetic ink cartridges to print these encoded numbers onto blank cheque paper. Banks use them when producing cheque books.
You do not need a MICR printer in UAE
When your bank issues a cheque book, the MICR line is already printed on every leaf. Your job is only to print the payee name, date, and amount — which any regular printer can do. What matters is that the software puts each field in exactly the right spot for your bank's layout.
