PDC Cheque FAQ

What is a PDC cheque in UAE?

PDC (Post-Dated Cheque) is a cheque with a future date. The bank can only deposit or process it on or after that date. Widely used in UAE for rent, loans, and instalments.

Does the start date count as Day 1?

No — this calculator uses Day 0 convention (industry standard). The start date is Day 0. So "30 days from August 26" = September 25, not September 26.

What happens if a PDC date falls on Friday or Saturday?

UAE banks (Sunday–Thursday working week) will hold the cheque and process it the next working day. To avoid this, tick "Exclude Saturday" and consider your bank's weekend policy.

How many PDC cheques do I need for rent in UAE?

For 1-year rent contracts, landlords typically require 1 to 4 cheques (quarterly) or 12 monthly cheques. Use the Series generator above to calculate all dates at once.
