Noor Bank Cheque Printing After the Dubai Islamic Bank Merger

Noor Bank is now part of Dubai Islamic Bank

Dubai Islamic Bank acquired Noor Bank and integrated it, and Noor accounts moved across to DIB. New cheque books issued against those accounts carry Dubai Islamic Bank stationery, not Noor Bank stationery.

That leaves UAE businesses in one of two situations, and they need different answers:

• You still hold an unused Noor-branded cheque book. Some companies have older books sitting in a drawer. Check with your branch whether those leaves are still honoured before you print anything on them — that is a banking question, not a software one, and we would not want you to spend a batch finding out.
• Your account has been reissued on DIB stationery. Then you are printing a Dubai Islamic Bank cheque, and the Dubai Islamic Bank cheque printing guide is the page you want.

Where Noor stands in the cheque library

Being straight about this: there is no published Noor Bank layout in the library. The library carries measurements for twenty-four cheque books and Noor is not among them, because the stationery stopped being issued before we started measuring and we have not had a leaf in hand to measure.

We do not publish a layout we have not measured. A guessed layout is worse than no layout — it wastes a cheque leaf and makes you doubt the next one. If you have a Noor book and you want it supported, scan one blank leaf flat at full size and send it through a ticket. Measuring it and adding it to the next layout version is a short job once the scan exists.

If you need to print on a Noor leaf today

The software can print to a bank you add yourself. You set the cheque width and height and drag the four fields — date, payee, amount in words, amount in figures — onto the positions printed on your own leaf, then save it under its own name. It becomes your own stored layout and prints like any other bank afterwards.

Print the first attempt on a photocopy of the cheque rather than the cheque. Hold the photocopy against a real leaf up to a window and you will see any field that needs nudging, before it costs you anything.
