- Spell out the full amount — no abbreviations (not “5K” or “5 thou”)
- Capitalise the first letter — start with a capital (e.g., “Five Thousand”)
- Use “and” between hundreds and tens — “One Hundred and Twenty-Five” (some styles omit this, but most UAE banks accept both)
- Use hyphens in compound numbers — “Twenty-Five”, “Thirty-Seven”
