Al Masraf Cheque Printing (AM-001)

A mid-format leaf

At 163 × 83 mm the Al Masraf cheque is seven millimetres wider than a WIO leaf and forty narrower than an NBF one. It is its own size, and that is the only thing you need to know about it: there is no neighbouring bank whose setting you can borrow.

Setting it up

Select Al Masraf in the bank list and the four field positions load with it. Set the printer to a custom paper size of 163 × 83 mm, feed from the manual tray and bring the guides in. Print the first cheque on a photocopy, hold it against a real leaf, and adjust if anything needs a nudge.

Al Masraf is a trade finance bank, so its cheque books are mostly used for supplier payments and letters of credit — batches rather than single cheques. Once the size is set the batch behaviour is the same as any other bank.

What gets printed

Date, payee, amount in words, amount in figures. The software only prints the text fields onto Al Masraf's own stationery; the bank mark, the account line and the magnetic band are untouched. The amount in words is generated from the figure so the two always agree, and it wraps to a second line when a figure runs long. You can preview the wording in the amount to words converter.
