National Bank of Fujairah Cheque Printing (NBF-001)

National Bank of Fujairah is a trade and contracting bank, and its cheque book reflects that — a wide leaf built for long company names.

The measured NBF leaf

NATIONAL BANK OF FUJAIRAHNBF-001203 × 99 mmWide format. Three millimetres narrower than Emirates Islamic.

At 203 mm wide the payee rule is long, which matters for NBF customers more than most: trading and contracting companies in the northern emirates often have names that will not fit on a short cheque without being cut. The layout places the payee start far enough left to use the full rule.

Long payee names

If a supplier name is longer than the rule, the field reduces the text to fit rather than running off the edge or printing over the next line. That is better than being cut mid-word, but it does mean a very long name prints smaller than the rest of the cheque. Where a name is genuinely too long, use the trading name the supplier invoices under — shorter and still correct.

The payee line is single-line on NBF stationery. Where a bank's layout allows a second payee line, the software uses it; NBF does not need one at this width.

The four printed fields

Date, payee, amount in words, amount in figures — and nothing else. The software only prints the text fields onto your own NBF cheque. The bank's printing, your account details and the magnetic band are part of the stationery and stay exactly as issued.

The amount in words is set to run to a second line on long figures. To see the wording a figure produces before you print it, use the amount to words converter.

Fujairah and the northern emirates

NBF books are common in Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain. Installation works the same across the country — see cheque printing software Fujairah for how setup is arranged in the emirate.

Questions we get asked

Will one setting cover NBF and RAKBANK?

No. NBF is 203 x 99 mm and the RAKBANK books are 206 x 100 and 202 x 99 mm. They are close, which is exactly why they are stored separately — a three millimetre error is enough to put the amount in figures on the printed rule. See the RAKBANK guide.

Can I print NBF cheques in Arabic?

The fields take the text you type, so an Arabic payee name prints as entered. The amount in words is produced in the language you select for the conversion. Print a test on a photocopy first to confirm the text sits inside the rule.

Does the cheque need a special paper setting?

Set a custom paper size matching the cheque rather than A4, and feed from the manual tray. If the printer thinks it is printing on A4 it will position the text for an A4 page and everything lands low.

Check your cheque against the library first

Open the UAE bank cheque library, find the code printed on your cheque, and pick the same name in the software. If your book is not there yet, send us a scan through a ticket and we measure it.
