Standard Chartered UAE Cheque Printing (SC-001)
The Standard Chartered cheque is exactly as wide as an A4 sheet, and that one fact dictates the whole setup.
210 millimetres wide, 89 tall
| Cheque book | Code in the software | Measured size | What to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| STANDARD CHARTERED | SC-001 | 210 × 89 mm | Widest leaf in the library. Same width as A4, ten millimetres flatter than a typical wide cheque. |
Two hundred and ten millimetres is the short edge of an A4 sheet. A Standard Chartered leaf uses the full width your printer can take, with nothing to spare on either side, and it is flatter than other wide cheques at 89 mm tall rather than 99.
That combination makes it the least forgiving leaf to feed. On a 199 mm cheque a couple of millimetres of lateral drift is absorbed by the margin; at 210 mm there is no margin. If the sheet goes in a millimetre off-centre, the amount in figures is the field that shows it, because it sits closest to the right edge.
Feeding a full-width cheque
- Set a custom paper size of 210 × 89 mm. An A4 setting makes the printer position text for a 297 mm long page and everything lands low.
- Feed from the manual or multipurpose tray with the guides set exactly to the leaf.
- Feed one at a time and square the leaf against the guide before it is drawn in.
- Run the first test on a photocopy. Hold it against a real cheque up to the light to confirm every field sits inside its rule.
Once the custom size is stored in the printer driver you do not revisit it. The care is in the first setup.
The printed fields
Date, payee, amount in words, amount in figures. The software only prints the text fields; Standard Chartered's own stationery supplies the bank printing, the account details and the magnetic band. On an 89 mm leaf the four rules sit closer together than on a 99 mm one, so the stored layout keeps the text size down to sit cleanly inside them.

Questions we get asked
Can my printer handle a 210 mm wide cheque?
If it prints A4, yes — A4 is 210 mm on the short edge, so the width is exactly at the limit rather than past it. What matters is that it can feed a short 89 mm sheet from a manual tray.
Why is my Standard Chartered cheque shifted to one side?
Because there is no spare margin at 210 mm, a slightly skewed feed shows up immediately. Square the leaf against the tray guide before it is pulled in, and set the paper size to the cheque rather than A4.
Is there more than one Standard Chartered cheque size in the UAE?
SC-001 at 210 x 89 mm is the one we have measured. If your book differs from that, send a flat scan through a ticket and we measure and publish it.
Check your cheque against the library first
Open the UAE bank cheque library, find the code printed on your cheque, and pick the same name in the software. If your book is not there yet, send us a scan through a ticket and we measure it.
